The House

The old part of the house was one of the first houses built. As then usal, the house went from street to street, so that when the pirates knocked on one door one could flee out of the other. It was always lived in and contained a shop or some small manufactory. I.e. one manufactory wax figurines for the church or as anatomic models. It was the site of one of the first newspapers of La Palma and a famous painter was born here (Gonzales Mendez). The original house is at least 350 years old and has been renovated many times. The gardens have been built over many times too, finally with the Hotel San Telmo.
